Presenting a content-rich session individually or as part of a team is a wonderful way to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas. The conference&#8217;s community-generated program will showcase future directions, best practices, stories of successful collaborations, lessons learned, and solutions to community-wide issues within various program tracks.<\/p>\n<h2>Proposal and Policy Guidelines<\/h2>\n<p>We invite those interested in presenting at the 2026 Alabama Governor&#8217;s Safety and Health Conference to submit a proposal for review by our Conference Planning Committee. Speaker proposals are evaluated objectively with emphasis on the following criteria (listed in order of significance):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree to which the proposed session meets the conference\/program objectives<\/li>\n<li>Desirability of the topic<\/li>\n<li>Speaker&#8217;s presentation skills and experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Proposals must contain and convey sufficient detail to allow our Conference Planning Committee to understand how the proposed session will support the conference objectives. Selection is competitive, so you must submit a compelling and complete proposal.<\/p>\n<h2>Submission Details<\/h2>\n<h3>Submission Deadline is January 31, 2026<\/h3>\n<p>We will consider no more than two proposals from each speaker. Please complete a separate application for each proposal. We will not consider incomplete submissions.<\/p>\n<h3>Length of Presentation<\/h3>\n<p>Presentations are in person, 75 minutes, including 15 minutes for questions.<\/p>\n<h3>Presenter Contact Information<\/h3>\n<p>Provide contact information for each presenter\/co-presenter.\u00a0 Please be as accurate as possible, as this will be posted on the conference website and app.<\/p>\n<h3>Presentation Description and Learning Outcomes<\/h3>\n<p>Provide a brief description of the presentation.\u00a0 <em>Maximum length is 60 words.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Use these tips to help create an effective description of your session:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highlight how the presentation will help an attendee solve a problem, overcome a challenge or launch a new initiative, and how what they will learn will directly impact their work\/life.<\/li>\n<li>Create action-oriented learning objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Set accurate expectations. Clearly describe what the session will cover and highlight the learning activities an attendee can expect.<\/li>\n<li>Use active tense. For example, change \u201cStrategies to improve safety management will be examined\u201d to \u201cLearn strategies to improve safety management.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Avoid repeating the title in the description and phrases like \u201cIn this presentation\u201d or \u201cThe presenters will.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, please specify up to three expected learning outcomes for attendees using measurable action verbs.\u00a0 These outcomes should be tailored to the audience members. <em>Maximum length is 100 words.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Topic Track<\/h3>\n<p>Please select the track where your presentation best fits:<\/p>\n<p>Construction Safety<br \/>\nEnvironmental<br \/>\nResearch and Data Driven Innovation &amp; Best Practices<br \/>\nManufacturing<br \/>\nNew to Safety (Emerging Professionals)<br \/>\nOccupational Health and Safety<br \/>\nRisk Management<br \/>\nSafety Leadership and Organizational Development<br \/>\nTransportation<br \/>\nWorkers&#8217; Compensation<\/p>\n<h3>Biographical Information<\/h3>\n<p>Offer a brief description of your qualifications that relate to the presentation topic.\u00a0<em>Maximum length is 600 words.\u00a0<\/em>At a minimum, please include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<li>Current position<\/li>\n<li>Certifications and designations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This will be posted in the conference app, exactly as provided.<\/p>\n<h2>Proposal Acceptance<\/h2>\n<p>The conference planning committee has the sole authority and responsibility for selecting the topics and content of all educational programming it delivers.<\/p>\n<p>We will email notification of acceptance by March 7, 2026.<\/p>\n<h2>Honoraria<\/h2>\n<p>Our speakers receive a full complimentary conference registration.
