Membership dues and course fees are deliberately modest to enable everyone to enjoy OLLI, but philanthropic giving by members and the community at large is necessary to assure a vibrant future for OLLI. There are many options available for helping ensure that OLLI will be available for future generations.<\/p>\n<h2>The following funds facilitate and enhance OLLI operations.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em><strong>OLLI Gift Fund<\/strong><\/em> enables OLLI to maintain an affordable program for its members and provides the flexibility for OLLI to adjust to unexpected needs and the ever-changing environment in adult lifelong learning. Recent examples of gifts to this fund include one gift of $1,000 unrestricted and another of $2,000 earmarked for OLLI\u2019s membership marketing efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/give.ua.edu\/?d=AB4424F0-350D-4FBE-9D64-B27C1BDBA0AD\" class=\"btn  btn-crimson\">OLLI General Gift Fund<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><em>Peter Peacock Memorial Scholarship Fund <\/em><\/strong>was initiated by OLLI member Dorothy Peacock in memory of her late husband. Its purpose is to provide scholarships for individuals who want to participate in OLLI but require financial assistance to do so. Special events can be marked by donations to this fund. For example, the family of a charter member of OLLI donated 80 membership scholarships in honor of her 80th birthday. As well as honoring an individual, gifts like this strengthen OLLI&#8217;s outreach ability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/give.ua.edu\/?d=C851C5CF-3149-450D-AED8-79012A14EE07\" class=\"btn  btn-crimson\">Peter Peacock Scholarship Endowment<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><em>Dennis James Memorial Fund <\/em><\/strong>was endowed through a $50,000 bequest. Interest from the fund provides transportation for an OLLI travel opportunity every other year. Through the gift, more than 100 people have traveled to see the kinds of things Dennis loved \u2013 like architecture. If you enjoy learning through travel, consider donating to this fund so others can share your passion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/give.ua.edu\/?d=1A845D18-FCAD-4A52-9ECF-8BF9B1CB4193\" class=\"btn  btn-crimson\">Dennis James Travel Endowment<\/a>\n<h2>There are several ways to give to OLLI:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a <em>check <\/em>to \u201cOLLI at UA\u201d and mail it to OLLI at UA, Box 870398, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487<\/li>\n<li>Effect a <em>credit card transaction <\/em>by calling OLLI Registration Services (205) 348-3000<\/li>\n<li>Go <a href=\"https:\/\/give.ua.edu\/\"><em>online to \u201cgive.ua.edu\u201d <\/em><\/a>\u00a0and type \u201cOsher Lifelong Learning Institute Support Fund\u201d into the search bar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Types of gifts: (make this a header in some way)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>cash contributions<\/li>\n<li>gifts for endowed scholarships<\/li>\n<li>appreciated marketable securities<\/li>\n<li>real estate<\/li>\n<li>naming OLLI as a beneficiary in a will or revocable living trust<\/li>\n<li>personal property, collections<\/li>\n<li>Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from regular IRAs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For assistance in designating a gift, please contact Jennifer Anderson, OLLI director, at (205) 348-3002 or <a href=\"mailto:janderson@ccs.ua.edu\">janderson@ccs.ua.edu<\/a>.
